Tradition
Areál Sokolova is a place where words like tradition, family heritage, and reliability take on a whole new meaning. The history of business activities—carried out under various trade names but led by members of a single family for decades—dates back to the 1930s when a battery factory was established here.
The prosperous business was nationalized in 1948 and became part of the state-owned enterprise Bateria Slaný. Production ceased in 1968 but was temporarily revived due to the boom in portable transistor radios. After production ended again, the premises were adapted for a different type of production—tractor covers for Zetor were manufactured on Sokolova Street.
In the early 1990s, production in Zetor was reduced, affecting the Sokolova factory as well. The complex began to deteriorate, and the original owners, in an effort to prevent its liquidation, filed a restitution claim. It took until 1998 to resolve the claim partially. At the same time, the idea of creating a modern complex that would once again bring honest business and prosperity to Sokolova was born. After the necessary remediation of unusable buildings (2012), a new concept for the multifunctional Areál Sokolova was created. The first hall will be built here in 2014, with subsequent modules being realized according to clients' needs.
